As my profile states I live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We are currently experiencing an all time record flood. The Cedar River runs right the center of town and divides the East and West ends of town. Flood stage for the river is 18 feet. The highest flood on record was 20 feet in 1929, currently the river is at 20.23 feet and is predicted to crest at 24.5 feet. We are also waiting for thunderstorms tonight and all day tomorrow that are expected to bring an additional 1-3 inches of rain. I have created a photo album named Flood 2008 I have uploaded pics from today and will continue to upload more pictures of this historic flood. i was walking to work and crossing the little side street just past kwik shop on blairsferry and center point road a guy came to the stop sign and stop then while i was right in front of the car he started going hit me and keep going thats when i rolled up on his hood and rolled off i cuaght myself with my hands on his hood he finally stopped then he cracked his door open and said i didnt see you youre wearing all black when the only black i had on was my coat and my gloves i was wearing blue jeans and had a BRIGHT blue back pack on but he hadnt scrapped any of his windows and his windshield was covered with ice and i was right under a street light when it happened so i yelled at him if you cleaned your fucking windows off you would have seen then he peeled off and turned north on center point rd so i hobbled back to kwik shop and called 911 they sent hiawatha pd out nad took me to the hosp in an ambulance i only got the last 3 of his lisc plate for sure gave that and a description of him and the car to the cop so now they are looking for him but luckily it didnt break any bones just has my knees hurting like a bitch
