Pajama Party
Bravery born of false bravado,
Soldiers patrol into the night.
Through the jungle slash and burn,
Searching for a hero’s fight.
But black pajama’d evil demon,
Cull their numbers one by one.
Take from them their warriors pride,
And make them pray this war be done.
Young men led to battle weary,
Warriors fighting without a purpose.
Sent to die by politicians,
Vilified by the populace.
From the safety of home so far away,
Their peers condemn this evil war.
Hold innocent soldier to account,
For atrocities committed on this shore.
No one man can be held to blame,
Fear has become this soldier’s master.
Fear of an enemy that can’t be seen,
This black pajama’d demon in alabaster.
