I was sitting in the dentist's chair in Salinis, thinking, as the needle descended into my mouth, that my life has been all about pain management. Now, don't get me wrong, I have a pretty great life all in all. I am well-employed, surrounded by friends and family, and have done things that others can only dream of. However, I can't deny that there have been longer stretches of time where I have shouldered more than my fair share.
The army, without a doubt, has been a cruel mistress. She has beaten me up pretty good over the years. The knees don't work like they used to and the back is tender from years of heavy rucking. lol....I guess that it is better to look good than to feel good.
However, today, more so than most, I am tired: I have to go back to the doctor.
