Good Morning. Have you ever wondered what your net worth was? I mean honestly if someone were to ask you what your net worth is could you come up with an answer? Well a minor league pitcher John Odom was traded in May by the Calgary Vipers of the independent Golden Baseball League to the Laredo Broncos of the independent United League, but his exchanged counterpart balked at leaving the U.S. for the Canadian team. The clubs huddled and announced that Odom would still report to Laredo, which would send Calgary not a player in return, but 10 bats. Now 10 bats might be worth a total of 500.00 to 5000.00 dollars depending on how good and what material they were made of…I just have to say if I were John Odom I would take up another sport or at least prove your net worth is more then 10 bats…What is the team sent 10 flying bats in a cage…yuck!
Hey how about this airline deal about paying extra for checked baggage. Now that stinks! While we were returning from Florida a little over two weeks ago and standing in line. I witnessed something I just have to say was not right. A little old lady not more then 110 pounds soaking wet and no more then 5 foot tall rolled in a bag that was oh I don’t know perhaps ¾ of her height and judging by the riff she got at the counter must have weighed 100 pounds and similar to her own weight was given grief and discontent. The Lady behind the counter said “Ma’am you will have to transfer some of that weight out of you checked bag to your carry on or I will have to charge you an extra 200.00 dollars for your checked bag..” I watched as this lady tried to transfer some of the weight into her carry on…this was never going to happen. She struggled with it as people passed by her checking in for their flights. Apparently due to the gas costs in our country the airline industry has come up with another way to put it to the air traveler. Adding cost per bag, cost per weight and limiting the amount one can bring with. Lord knows when we travel through the air we bring just the essentials. Pack very light and only what you will wear. But, if you view some movies and see some stars carrying like 4 and 5 bags holey smokes that has to be like an extra 500-1000 dollars. Has anyone seen the movie “Wedding Date” Oh my gosh I don’t want to be considered gay or light in the loafers but that movie is a favorite of mine…Ok, she had like 5 bags flying overseas…had to be like an extra 1000 dollars in this new airline policy plan. You know, if baggage fees continue to sky rocket…no pun intended… but if they do, travelers will just stop flying or use a common carrier to send their luggage out prior to and from their destination. However, it is what it is and companies are just trying to re-coop their costs of higher fuels, higher wages and lets face it burnt out employees dealing with unhappy travelers due to delays, costs and overloaded flights.
It was a very busy weekend for me, Mandy let us know she was granted 4 days this week on the work schedule, so that is a plus. Jackie also informed us her goal is to move down to Florida in February and pursue her goal in entertainment by working with Disney behind the cameras. So the last of the Bell Beauties will be heading south just after the New Year. Ok, that in itself is a sad thought, now my immediate family will be Florida residents and most of my brothers and sisters and aunts and uncles are down that way already. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out my destination…
Oh well that is neither here nor there…hmmm what the hell does that sentence mean? Never mind…
