As I stand atop this thundering mountain,
It's my balance that I struggle to maintain,
One false move and I plummit to my death,
This kind of weight makes me go insane.
It's a pain I deal with that I try to hide
Emotions I keep locked away,
Gotta stay strong or else I'll fade,
And I can't let that happen on any day.
Forward and backward I've started to sway,
It's getting harder to stand up tall,
I've got to find the soldier within,
Otherwise I think I'm destined to fall.
I've been up here it seems like forever,
And I don't know what I should think,
For now I'll just keep goin steady,
And not allow my ship to sink.
More and more my back begins to break,
This pressure builds it weighs a ton,
Still I live without complaint,
I'm not gonna quit til' my job is done.
Prepared I walk through this valley of death,
Stubborn to the ways I've come to know,
Motionless I stand atop this mountain,
Staring at the life that lies below.
