So yeah...maybe I'm getting older and a bit jaded (lol)....or maybe I'm just sick of seeing people be absolutely clueless when it comes to having manners. Is it just not taught? Are peeps retarded or just plain selfish? I don't know but it's not that difficult to say thanks when people hold the door open for you, or to hold the door open for others....it's not too much strain on your arm to wave thank you when someone lets you pass them in your car....it's not too time consuming to take a moment to thank someone for their kind word or open ear or any form of flattery or help. Shit we're ALL busy in life, we ALL have stress, bills, schedules, meetings, plans, obligations, family, friends, partying, sleeping, venting, jamming, exercising and living to do, but damn I just don't get why people can't take the time to return a nice gesture when given to them. I couldn't tell you how many people I encounter on the street that are oblivious to this, and of course how many people have been 'cold' online as well.
The people in the street - I just mumble shit under my breath or give them the cold stare in my car and that makes me feel better. But when someone reads your email and ignores you, especially after writing something nice, don't you wanna write back and say - I take it back, you're a selfish prick and I no longer think highly of you! LOL
I know it sounds harsh but it gets under my skin sometimes. And hey I'm not perfect, there's been times when I've forgotten to respond to someone, but noone out there can say I've ignored their FIRST email to me that actually required a response. If after that their email gets lost in my mailbox and I lose track, it's not intentional. It does get outta hand sometimes.. But why bother having email accounts and web pages when you're too snotty to simply say 'Thank you' when someone reaches out. Why is it so hard for someone to return a kind gesture to someone else? Again, is it stupidity or selfishness?
Another retarded thing is when you have acquaintances that do similar dumb shit. You know the ones - they bother you for bs then forget to say thanks. And god forbid you bother them with something! lol Or they text/IM you to brag about their bullshit but don't care to listen to your side of things. Or they steal your funny joke or picture and post it somewhere else taking full credit. Shit then there's the profile stealers using your identity to lure in the opposite sex! But most of these are no friends of mine, even though it's happened to a few peeps I know....and it's mind boggling to say the least.
Anyway I'm in a great mood, and in no way is this a bitch rant. :) It's more a topic that I ponder every once in a while and thought it deserved a good mention. For those of you who can relate - you know you're not alone! And to those out there guilty of this shit - stop it, stop it right now! You're annoying as hell! =P
