So my name is Amanda. I'm 22 years old...and I am finishing up my B.A. in English and getting my Secondary Teaching Certification after I finish student teaching in December 2010, and then in the Summer of 2011, I begin my Graduate program at the UT Health Science Center for Deaf Education and Hearing Science, I was lucky enough to be accepted early. But don't let this scare you off - just because I am highly motivated in my academics doesn't mean I expect you to be a doctor or anything. I do want someone highly motivated, but that does not mean you need a PhD.

I have a dog, Maggie, and a two cats, Harper and Chase. I also have a mustang, her name is Gypsy Taboo, and she's a great little brat, but I love her. I adopted her from the BLM and "domesticated" her myself...but I know she would run straight back into the wild if I gave her the chance (I know this because she already did it once LoL).I am a pet person. I am also, a movie person. I love movies, but I'm not critically snobby of them. As for music, I like it, but it's not my life. I don't do well with people who demand the song, title, and publishing date of songs and bands. I usually just stare at you blankly when people ask "have you heard..." I like music...all kinds, generally, but you're most likely to hear me singing along with country music or whatever is on the ....popular...radio station? rock...hip hop....all that...stuff....with titles to genres that I don't get...

Books though. I get books. I'm an academic, but I love all the horrid stuff I shouldn't be reading....like Twilight...yes I said that taboo word! Strike me down now! But I promise, I'll never ask someone to be Edward or Jacob, cause that's ****ed up, nor will I ask you to watch the movies with me. I'm not that cruel. You should also know that I have an iphone....and I don't have any music on it, just audiobooks. Yes, I'm just that kind of person.


I'm single, but I'm not rushing into meeting "the one". I am 22 years old, and right now I need to work on ME. I am happy with myself mentally, but physically not so much. I need to lose some weight, so I am exercising and eating the way I should. I am pretty stoked cause I just started this crazy exercise program and it's really working, I can feel the muscles coming and the fat burning! woo hoo! The scale is going down, so I'm pretty happy with it. But I won't knock Mr. Right down should he come along. I'm just a work in progress. But then again, arn't we all? Jeeze, I hope so.
