Proud father to 4 great 18+ year old kids, all but one are off on their own. I have one son staying with me while he completes college.

I would love to find someone that enjoys some of my interests as well as her own. Sharing time together is important of course, but having one’s own time and interests is also a good thing. It's a great way to be exposed to new things as well, and learning is a life long adventure. In my work constant learning is important as our technology changes frequently which is one of the things I like about what I do. I think that's also what I enjoy about cooking, learning new dishes, experimenting... Intelligence is important to me, and no... I don't mean you have to have a PHD... I just mean being able to communicate well and express your ideas, feelings, needs, and desires is important in a relationship. A good sense of humour is also important, my humour has been described as kind of goofy, playful.

Physically I would say I am somewhere between average and a few extra pounds... But that's a work in progress lol. Selecting 'Body Type' seems pretty subjective on here... I went with few extra, I have no delusions of being more (or less?) than what I am. I have seen some people with "average" on their profile and by their pictures are quite obviously more than a few pounds over... Why do people lie about their appearance? If the objective is to meet, doesn't lying pretty much kill any trust right off the start? It does for me, trust is one of the most important pieces in a successful relationship as far as I'm concerned.
I would like it if you were in reasonably good shape, somewhere around average/few extra, like myself. I am not a marathon runner by any stretch, but I do believe in staying healthy. I won't try to describe any particular physical appearance I prefer; physical attraction is very subjective. I do notice a person’s eyes and smile first however. I'm not a shallow person, but there does have to be some physical attraction, so please have a recent photo. All mine were taken within the last year.

I don't like or play headgames, so if you are all about games then please move along. Yea, I know that's usually the domain of men but I've met a few women game players as well. I value honesty, respect and integrity. I believe romance is still alive and well, and like both giving and receiving. I am not looking for a fling or short term.... Although I have 'Dating' listed as what I am looking for, I've been single 5 years now and am ready to find that special someone that could become a life partner.

Finding that special someone that makes your heart melt and your soul quiver is actually quite easy.... the hard part is finding someone like that, that also feels the same way about you...
That's exceptionally rare. If you can find such a person, hang on to them with all you have.
