So, you want to know all about me. You may be sorry you ask. I have a tendency to be completely honest, sometimes to the point of being blunt. I believe if you don't want to know the answer, don't ask the question. This sometimes has a tendency to get me in trouble. I'm thinking about writing a book; "Things Not To Say On A First Date" - lol.
Most people think I'm a happy-go-lucky guy, with a good sense of humor, always ready with a snappy come-back. I do have my dark side, and I get very quiet when I'm agitated. More than one person has told me "As long as your loud everything is fine, but when you get quiet, look out." I never realized that about myself, and I'm not sure I like it. It makes me predictable and predictability can have dire effects.
People can always count on me when they're in a bind, and they know it. I like being dependable, but I don't like predictable.
I'm 6'2", 220 lbs and athletic. I exercise regularly. I'm not a "musclehead", but this body is the only one I'll ever have, so I try to keep it in good shape. I enjoy adventure, and sometime engage in what some people would regard as risky behavior. I have NO criminal record.
I enjoy spending time with the right person. I'm impulsive, but have the ability to plan meticulously when required. Mostly, I just want to enjoy the things life has to offer.
I have to spend way too much time on the telephone in the course of my business to enjoying "IM'ing" or "cyber-chatting". I much prefer meeting, and conversing, face-to-face. You don't have to be afraid to meet me in person; I don't bite (unless, of course, you want me to - lol). But, when all else fails, I can "keyboard" with the best of them.
I'm Intelligent, conversational, I like to listen - I already know about me.
I'm a semi-retired Computer Security Consultant, "semi-retired" because I still have the "techno-fever", but I also have time to do what I want, when I want.
I've travelled around the world at least seven times, as well as various side trips to some "interesting" places. I started my career in the Marine Corps, and did my "post-grad" work with private companies, and other Spec-Op veterans.I'm fairly adept a combat skills. (the real kind). At least enough to keep myself and my team alive. I'm no "wanna-be", I've been there done that, got the tee-shirt (blood-stained", and the scars to prove it. I don't dwell on violence, it dwells on me. I guess everyone has to be good at something. We do the jobs that need to be done, nobdy else wants to do, and nobody wants to talk about, and everyone pretends really only happen in the movies. It isn't who I am; it's what I do.
I also read; medical fiction and the classics (working on Plato's "Republic" and Sun Tsu's "The Art of War" at the moment). I'm trying to get up the nerve to start on the "I-Ching Oricle". I've read Gray's Anatomy twice, cover-to-cover.
I currently own a Harley-Davidson street racing bike (it will run on the track, too) and a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX 300 H.P. "tuner", which I built up myself. I also own my own home, but I don't spend a lot of time there; there's just too many things to do, and see, and new people to meet.
In case you think that I'm making any of this up, I can provide references, documentation, and pictures (No, they're not PhotoShop'ed).
Oh, and I'm modest, too.
Told you that you would be sorry you asked ...
