This is my first exposure to an online community, it has been quite an experience. I was overwhelmed at first, learning overload. I am relatively new to computer world, so I have been still learning the basics. But with each step I take and each new lesson learned, it fills me with awe.
A few months ago, I was at the library and the computers were down, a sign said it would be a couple of hours before they went back online.I decided to use the time to search for something in a book. When I approached the librarian and asked him where I could find the desired material, he got a confused look on his face. I asked him what the problem was. He told me he was at a loss as to how to find the reference materials I wanted without the computer to tell him where it would be found. I thought to myself, how dependant we have become on computers in such a relatively short period of time.
I had waited so long to start my education in the cyber world, until it was beginning to concern me. I was afraid to stay uneducated in this area for fear that I would become as a person unable to read or write.
