A guy walks into a bar he's never been to before called the Crazy Horse Saloon. Walking in past the dime-store Indian, he sits down, and orders a drink. The bartender gives it to him and then goes to help other customers. As he's looking around at the novelty of the place, he notices a large basket at the end corner of the bar full of ten dollar bills. Every so often, he sees people walk up, toss in a ten, and go through this door at the back of the bar.
He's quite puzzled by this, so he calls the bartender over for another drink, and asks him what the basket is for.
"Oh that? That's the pot for our running bet. See, we've got a horse out back that's supposed to be crazy, but never shows it. So, the bet is: Anyone that can go out there and make him laugh wins the pile of money."
"That's it? All I'd have to do is make him laugh? Well, count me in then!" The man sets his drink down, takes a ten out of his wallet, tosses it into the pot and walks through the door.
The bartender's seen this hundreds of times, but after about 10 minutes, this raucious, high-pitched whinny comes from the back followed by large whoops of laughter. A few seconds later, the new guy comes back inside, grins at the bartender, and picks up his wad of cash. He then proceeds to continue downing his drink. The bartender can't believe it, so he rushes out back to find the horse, sure enough, rolling around laughing his ass off. Amazed, the bartender walks back inside, but finds the man has left.
A couple of weeks later, the bartender is tending again when the same guy walks back in and sits down at his bar. After giving him a drink, the man glances at the basket to find it filled again, only this time with twenties. He looks up at the bartender and asks what this pot is for.
"Well.. ever since you came here last time and made that blasted horse laugh, he's not stopped since. He laughs all day, all night, and long into the wee hours of the morning. We tried to shut him up a few times, but nothing worked. He just keeps laughing and laughing. So, this time, we raised the stakes and made it so that anyone that can stop the horse from laughing, in fact makes him cry, wins the pot of twenties."
"That's it? That sounds easy enough," the guy says. "I think I can take care of this." So he picks out a twenty, tosses it into the pot, and goes out back again. This time, it only takes him 5 minutes before the horse starts bawling.. I mean, tears streaming and the most heart-wrenching weeping you've ever heard from an animal. Bambi couldn't cry more than this...
The guy comes back in, grabs his money, and goes to finish his beer. Before he can get up to leave though, the bartender stops him and asks what it was he did to get such a reaction. "I've gotta know... first you make him laugh, then cry. How in the hell did you do this?"
"Oh it's simple, really," the guy replied with an almost shy smile on his face. "The first time, I went out back, looked him square in the eye and told him that something he holds sacred isn't true. I told him flat out that my dick was bigger than his was. I guess it made him chuckle a little."
"Wow.. that was all it took to make him laugh?? Damn, I wish I'd thought of that one," the bartender said. "But if that was what made him laugh, what in the world did you say to make him cry??"
"Oh.. that's even easier... I pulled down my pants and showed him!!"
