The Declaration of Independence July 4th 1776 Soon we will be celebrating the 4th of July. I have given this blog a lot of consideration. For myself, I am going to re-affirm my commitment to the principles our founding fathers so beautifuly and simply wrote down on one piece of paper. Reading the words chosen for this declaration I am amazed at how few words can say so much. Those men sure knew how to turn a phrase and use language like no one can today. What Thomas Jefferson wrote is amazing, and I challenge anyone today to do better than he did those few evenings with quill pen in hand and working by candle light. He begins with the why it became necessary to break the bonds, and look to the laws of Nature and the Nature of God and what is God given, not government given. Powerful. When we look at how things have become so perverted and twisted that we can’t even allow god in our schools, our work place, our community. It was good enough for Thomas Jefferson then it’s good enough for me. The Declaration of Independence The way the second paragraph starts is etched in every American’s body, mind and soul. How many brave and fine Americans have given their lives for these magnificent words? We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. Then they follow that up with this. What to do, what to do? That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed So they tell us what is, followed up by what we are responsible for. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government Have we let things get just a little out of hand on our shift? Are we on the edge of a catastrophic collapse of the America our fathers, and their fathers, took such heroic steps to preserve? AS a nation since this declaration many things have changed in a relatively short period of time when you take into consideration the history of man. We in America are a young nation still when stacked up against the great civilizations of man. Thomas Jefferson continued with more eloquent words for the ages. If you want to know more, please do a little research on your own. Come to your own conclusions. Make a commitment to do your best. Provide a nation as it once was, Free and Independent. Do what you can. Let the individual stand side by side in equality with corporations, government, and all citizens of the United States of America. Make our fathers stand tall with pride. Let our children look back and stand with their fore fathers, proud, free men and women before each other and God. Bring pride, honesty, and a constitutional government back to America. Amen.
