OK, the debate still rages, more intensely than ever about the 1956 decision to put 'In God We Trust' on US money. The issue is that not only was the decision heavily influenced by Christian ministers but it violates the strict policy of the separation of church and state that the founding fathers expressed in the constitution and other letters by the founding fathers clarifying this matter. As this country's government is clearly not allowed to endorse any religion, it is debated that having such a motto on our currency is doing just that. Many were very upset that the words "under god" were removed from the pledge of allegiance, but those words were also added by the same Ministers at the same time that the phrase was slapped into the currency. Prior to that, those words were never in the pledge either. So...
Should it be removed from currency?
