In Idaho Falls, ID a young woman fleeing an abusive situation sought shelter at the only place she could find help: A center for women in need that was run by non-denominational Christians. She had her 17 month old baby with her as well. She was booted out of the center because a staff member saw her reading a book from a fictional Pagan series and then noticed her Pagan ring and told her it was "Satanist" and to throw away her books and her jewelry or she would get kicked out. Refusing to do so, she was ejected. Now having been homeless and Pagan I have been through this time and again, but seeing as these centers are usually federally funded they are supposed to be equal opportunity, and even the director of the place said she didn't break any rules. So is this
A: a case of discrimination
or
B: She shouldn't have been mingling with Jesus folk
or C: This mumm as usual is too long and I didn't read it because I didn't pass the 4th grade :P |
