Events that have taken place in the last several weeks have got me to thinking. However, There is just one thing I cannot figure out.
This is in reference to no specific individual, just something that I have noticed over the years. I know what my personal opinions of it are. I was just curious as to what others may think.
I am sure most if not all of you have seen me busting some poor schmucks balls in the MuMMs for his/her lack of attempting to spell, punctuate and using just basic grammar rules.
My personal take on it is, the majority of this behavior is usually done for two different reasons. The first reason being that the person is an actual idiot and too stupid to even try to do things the proper way. The other reason is that the person is just too damned lazy to even attempt to do anything correctly. Typical misspellings, I can forgive as shit happens.
I see the English language slowly eroding away to shit. I mean when they are adding made up shit from Rachael Ray to the dictionary, something is definitely wrong. I consider it a sign of intelligence when somebody who may lack a vocabulary at least try to do something, this to me shows that that individual knows his/her weakness, but wish to be taken seriously.
Now that you all know my personal beliefs on this subject, I have seen some seemingly intelligent folks in relationships with Illiterate folks. Not knowing a whole lot about the love thing from personal experience, I am curious. Is love so powerful, that an individual can look past another's obvious stupidity? I know for myself, if I take a date out to a restaurant and she has a hard time reading the menu, there will be no second date and of course there will NEVER be a relationship.
My ex wife slipped through the cracks. I think the birth of my son knocked something loose in her head, as she was ok before then. After March of 1989 she started to get dumb as hell.
This may make me sound like a snob, but as stated previously, I am just curious as to if a relationship between an idiot and an at least semi-intelligent person can work. If I offend anyone with this, then you better thicken the skin up because you are way too fucking sensitive.
