I am sitting here bored so I will type a while. I am opening my Different Drummer Ministry as soon as I can. As a minister, I am finding it difficult to find adequate funding. I went online and tried to get a credit card for purchases for my ministry, and I used my new Tax ID # they gave to me over the phone. Unfortunately I cannot get credit with it (instead of a social security #, I can use this tax ID # for my ministry) because I don't have an established credit file concerning this number. I have to do some thing like open a bank account to get a credit card. That means I will have to raise money to do so. I am not sure how to do this, but I am going to try to apply for a grant. I might have to need a bank account to do any thing including getting grants from the government or a faith based organization. They would need a secure account to place the money in if I were to receive a grant at all. This is a lot like running a small business, I would say. I will have to do heavy work around tax time. I have to keep all of my documents and receipts and any thing related to my ministry. I am going to check about a bank in a few minutes, and see if I can start an account cheaply. Just remember everyone, don't be discouraged when you want something as badly as I do. You need to do all you can to make it a reality. Do it right, do it legally, and do it the way that you have always wanted to do it. Most importantly, do follow your dreams. You never will know what you might have done if you never tried. If you fail once, at least you can get back up again and dust your self off. Every one fails here and there, but they gain experience.
