Tattooing, piercing, and body modification have a spiritual essence. I am opening this ministry, Different Drummer Ministry, to preserve religious practices and to help with donations for people around the world. I refer to those rituals that are of ancient and of modern mankind. The practicioners are involved with the alteration of the body as art or as a cultural phenomenon. Ancient practices being used today must be respected and continued. Their peoples, as well, deserve assistance on many fronts. Modern practices must be respected and continued. The people who are of tribal cultures, deserve every chance to keep the integrity and sanctity of their society. A change in in the person's ritual life, or in their modern life, must be seen as an intrinsic right. They are very close to the same thing though there is a diffent force at work in an office building job promotion and seven hours later the same man is getting a tattoo to honor a relative that has passed to the Elysian Fields of the Greek tradition. I will attempt to educate and minister about the religious aspect of the arts of areas such as tattooing, piercing, and body modification. These practices have a spiritual history as well as an adornment fashion side. This will be apparent, and you will learn about many aspects of religion and history. They exist, and I believe that they have a significant spiritual basis in our culture and of those throughout time. Not only will you be able to learn about religious aspects of tattoos, piercings, and modifications to the body; but you will also be able to help preserve a history of ancient and modern arts open now to to all mankind that chooses to be involved. As an adult today, on this very day, any man or woman in any free society can get a tattoo with the right money. For example:If I were to walk into a tattoo parlor in Houston had enough money, I would be able to walk away with a brand new tattoo after a while. I will talk briefly about a few things I hope never to have to deal with. I don't want to allow problems of race, political beliefs, social beliefs, social movements, sexual orientation, illegal activity, nor hate to guide my ministry. They will be turned away from Different Drummer Ministry, and are not not condusive to a practical ministering of a spiritual nature. I will allow, as minister, the religious practices of cultures involved with alteration of the body that are legal, sensible, and practical under liberal view to be a key part of the ministry. This is to be a reasonable venture for the spirit as well a teaching ministry. Different Drummer Ministry will try to remain as non-partisan as possible and be as accepting of cultures of differing backgrounds. I hope to get this off the ground as soon as possible. I will try to open a store at some point to serve the needs of the community. "In essence: We are all changing, and it is within changing outward we exhibit the change we go through on the inside. We are also spiritual beings, and as such we change as we grow. What better way for spiritual beings to express our selves but from the inside to that which is on the outside?"
