This is a true story, but the names have been changed to protect some of the innocent victims...this is a 55 yr. Old man who has got to be one of the most self-serving, greediest person I've ever met on fubar in my entire 4 ½ yrs. on here. He asks for advice, but never takes it. He's going to do what HE wants to do in any aspect that I've seen on mafia and fubar. This guy is one shrewd jackazzzzz... he takes a game of friendship and turns it into a game of who has the most money to spend to stay on top. I have no use for him or respect...
He had friends in our turf whom he had added to his family. These family members do not beat the bushes to level up on fubar or want to waste their money on those ability blings, but everyone enjoys a chance to level up, even those with no hope to.
This man, I'll call him Dan... proceeded to ask his mafia friends in our turf to add him to their family. And of course, none of them questioned why, they just obliged him. Then he told them he would be removing them from his family but still wanted to come back and rate and comment on their page. These folks were shocked and some went ahead and removed him because he wasn't totally upfront with them. Others were just saddened and left him in their family.
The way I see it...these are people he had chatted with every single day and even talked to on the phone. A couple of them had even stuck their neck out to try to help him out... well, none of this was appreciated. Why not keep these folks in his family and help them while helping himself? We were only talking about 9 or 10 folks...still leaving him 40 slots for his “mentors”.
Our man, Dan, is a greedy man – beyond anything you can imagine. He took his family members out and added some strangers that he thought could help him climb that leveling pole on fubar. (Which some I know enough to know they have greased that pole slightly so he will have a slippery time....LOL). Even today, October 17th... he should have leveled within an hour or so, but none of his new “family” ever offered to help show him how. It is quite simple...and as far as I know, he still hasn't leveled...LOL.. Nope...just checked and he still hasn't leveled up. Yes, I'm tempted to help him, but I have to stick to my values on this. I can't let this slide like I've let so many wrong-doings of his slide in the past. This is the ultimate strike against about 10 of his true friends who cared about him... and his way of casting them aside.
Now Dan starts running back to back famps with boomys, rockstars, auto 11's (and WHY run an auto 11 on a day with unlimited 11's is so funny). He has done this almost non-stop. Strangers are getting rated instead of who really considered him as “family”..but he ignored the true friendships electing to stick with the other folks on fubar who could possible further advance him because of their expertise (cough) and experience. I have not really checked his current family in detail but a few I do know are the type to say...you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.
This man, Dan... sent me an email reply where I had just pimped him out..late one night that stated, and I quote:
“Do you think you can get Randy to accept me into his family so I can use his slot until I reach 54 here on the Fu-side then I will re-add all the turf members back - if he won't then I will keep him as I like posting a smile for all our members that have me in tier family and even those who don't if I see them.”
(Now...what Dan is saying is that he added Randy and the others to his family by mistake and now wants to help some strangers he has met recently and toss out his other friends who have stood by him and stood up for him. But he wants to be in their family in case they run any ability bling, of course.)
The way I felt is he should have asked Randy himself instead of trying to go through me. Well, since I didn't get right back with him that late at night and Randy had already gone to bed and too late to even ask him that kind of a question, he went ahead right then and removed Randy from his family anyway.
When confronted with this in front of others, he denied it, then said he must have accidentally pushed the button twice to remove him....yeah, right...LMAO
Then, he sent Randy an email stating that he had already removed Randy the night before (never indicating it was by accident, but felt like Randy would understand)... this is just too much...and too funny. His email stated and I quote:
“I am sorry that I assumed (never a good thing to do obviously) but I did, that Dee told you what I was doing and it would be no big deal to have you simply add me to your family so I could still Loyally/faithfully as a friend and turf member continue to post to your page each day. I told her if you minded I would just keep you in my family - but I again assumed it was not a big deal with you or Dee so I removed you to build/level on the Fu-side.”
Now Randy got this email the next day, which hardly gave me a chance to even let Randy know what was going on anyway.” And even though he told me he would keep Randy in his family.... he lied...and removed him that very same night.
This is where the lying came in... Dan, our man, had told everyone that he had accidentally removed Randy while he had told me it didn't matter one way or the other, that he would just keep Randy in his family. Now... you decide if this was a lie of a 55 yr. Old man who should be mature enough to know the difference.
It gets even better...this man is so full of greed that he runs all these blings to help those “new” members of his family never considering his supposedly true friends he had kicked out and couldn't understand why anyone would be upset with him. And of course none of this is helping our man, Dan...except to help him spend hundreds of dollars...LOL.
I had told him that neither Randy or I expect to level up any further on fubar so we spent our extra time helping others level up. Our level was one that you would have to spend too much money times 2 since it was me AND Randy...and we had always leveled together on each level we reached except for the one where you had to match the random number to level up..so I got him to go ahead and I would level in the next few days when the random number was in my favor.
Now, I'm writing all this down to re-read and make sure I have all my thoughts and facts correct. Woe be to me if I was wrong on any of them...LOL
Most of you already know me...and know I have never turned down helping anyone at any time with anything. I've even had a few in my family where we each removed each other for an hour or so in order to temporarily add someone since we had no more space and both agreed to do this at that time....since it would only take an hour or so to get this other person leveled. And, yes, several of you have done this with me...we have been there for each other and to help others... we are not selfish or self-centered. We give of ourselves... we will rate, like, fan, add, and rate pics to help another..this is what friendship is about on fubar.
I feel like I had to write this down...and put in a blog for all to see and let me know if I am wrong. I have never turned down helping anyone for any reason, but the actions of this old man, Dan, have caused me to remove him from family...and friend. And he is blocked... so of course, if you want to cut and paste this to him, that's fine with me. I just don't want him on my page til I get over all this.
He hurt my feelings immensely and never did try to right his wrong to these folks. It hurts a lot when I know these folks and their trusting ways. We have all tried our best to help this man, Dan...any time we could, but now it's his turn...to right his wrong or permanently turn his backs on all of us....because the others of us are FAMILY
UDATE 4/26/2016: Well, it's been 3 1/2 yrs. and things are still the same or worse on fubar!! Dan has made it a point to teach all the greedy ones how to play your friends (ha..ha)...it appears he has totally ruined the game for most of the older members on fubar. The new members are fitting right in with the greed and learning how to be self-serving all too well. Some offer to do a small favor in exchange for a permanent family spot....OMG!!! It's just crazy, folks. Don't buy into that! If someone approaches you with that, get with me first and see if Randy or I can do whatever it is for you. We never charge anything or make any demands for anything we do for anyone. I hope I'm viewing this wrong...but this is how it all looks to me, sad to say!
UPDATE 10/3/2016: Things are just getting worse. Now all he has to do is sit and let everyone keep him up top. He doesn't have to do anything, but now and then he will just to save face. I have lost all respect for this man... I kept hoping he would change, especially when he has such a sweetheart for a fu-wifey but looks like he's swaying her now.
