I sit and watch our troops come home

my chest swells so with pride

and as I watch the glorious sight

the tears roll down my eyes,

I cry for the ones that never came home

the one's still missing and held

their names on a wall for remembrence

the rest an empty shell.

what happened too the glory for those who came back?

when was their shing day? 

they went to save democracy

with a terrible price to pay.

No one owns up to what they have done

Not their government, their people-they're alone

Yet they fought the longest battle of all

with no one to welcome them home.
