I thought I should update this little section.
I would usually say to hell with that, but I only just now realised how lame what I was saying really was. So here goes. I'll start from my days in highschool. Above average in just about everything from academic to height to personality. I loved my friends, and I loved where I was in life. Though there is nothing like a massive wake-up call from people you've spent the past 3 years with to make you realise that you dont belong. So I quit school, best thing I could have done, and started to look about for work. My BF of two years at the time surprises me with a "We should break up" that I didnt see coming... a good shot to the self esteem I attempt to cling to today. Eventually I find work with a small graphic design agency who put me through college. Awesome. A year later, I get made redundant because the company goes under. Just great. So.. options.. find another place who will put me through college, join the army, become a fire fighter, go to uni and do physiotherapy. Some of these options I entertained. Joined the Fire Brigade to get a taste of it, love it, still there. But welcome to the biggest boys club on earth. If you need help getting something undone or lifting something one of the guys can easily lift, dont bother going back. Got another job doing graphic design, finished my course, won a bunch of prizes that I am so proud of. I wouldnt feel as confident as I do with my work if I didnt have those. Physical pieces of wood, metal and glass that mean I fucking rock at what I do. Been here ever since (5 years and counting). So thats where I am now. I love going to the gym as much as I can, nothing like beating the shit out of your body to work out any stressful day you could think of. I love going to the fires, I love coming home smelling of fuel, smoke and sweat, knowing that I did everything I could to help. Now I am looking forward in life. I have an awesome job, I can virtually go anywhere from here that I want. I have started my own business at home that is growing by the second and depriving me of sleep time, but what do I care. All my closest friends know who they are, and I cherish each and every one of them for all the help and support I have received over the years. Sometimes I was a bitch, a cow, an inconsiderate imbecile, but they still stood by me, and I'll forever be in their debt.
So, there's pics of normal me up here, and fire fighter me. I hope you have enjoyed the read.
