Hello, My name is Emily Young. I am from the Makah Reservation in La Push, Washington. For as long as I have lived I have lived here in La Push. I have seen everything imaginable that a human would like to see before they died, from cliffs; to mountains and much more. You could never find a more peaceful place then La Push, it’s never too quiet and never too loud. There’s probably not another place in the world quite like it.





The people of the Quiluete tribe are the most calm and welcoming people around. They bring someone new into their lives every day. When I am on the reservations beach, I can never feel quite happier then when I am there, the feeling is magical, it takes my breath away with its beauty. My ancestors have created this land to what it is today, making it this beautiful. It started as just a plain looking forest then making shelters and growing crops to survive off of. Today I still love to garden and grow crops just like my people did in the past.


I was visiting Leah Clearwater one day in La Push and she was with her boyfriend at the time, Sam Uley. When I met him it was like I stopped breathing, Sam Uley, then I knew that one day he would be my future husband, just by seeing him that first time.



My emotions were going crazy that day and still are today. When I am around him, I can’t hide my feelings or who I really am. I could never be apart from him, not for one day unless I am forced. I would be telling you a big lie; Sam and I have our good moments and our bad moments. Neither of us are perfect.


I can tell you the truth that the day Leah, Sam and I were all together It was a great day. Sooner Leah found out about Sam’s imprinting upon me and she was both devastated and furious. She knew that we would have to stay together. To this day, Leah still doesn’t like me much, she is much more shy and alone now. I feel bad that I did take her boyfriend from her that day, I didn’t plan it myself. She did forgive me thought. We all still hang out on the reservation like good pals and I hope to continue doing that.
