It snowed early for this area. Normally Northwestern Missouri doesn't see snow until January or February. When I was living in the city the change in the weather was always in the background, something merely to deal with.
Now that I am living with the trees as neighbors, I can feel the winter cycle of the year like never before. The snow gives a grace to where I live, and a quiet harmony. I can sense a change in the spirit of this place as the snow falls, as if a restfulness envelopes the land. This place is happy with the falling snow, and that energy flows through me. I feel more connected to this place now than ever before.
