What are you waiting for?

Well this girl does... By my friend Amanda a 15 year old girl that has Christmas Spirit and believes that dreams can come true. "I believe in Santa Clause." "Yes, you heard right. I believe in Santa Clause. The jolly ol' fat man who goes to childrens houses on Christmas Eve and leaves presents underneath the tree. And I am one of those "children" who is happy to find gifts under the tree marked with sloppy handwriting, "from Santa Clause". As immature as people may find it these days, I believe in Santa Clause. I believe that every kid or kid at heart... No, everyone, should believe in a little bit of magic. And it's sad to see that kids and even adults are way too caught up in reality. No one said it's bad to focus on reality... but what fun is life if you can't believe in magic? Or have a bit of an imagination? I want everyone this Christmas to close their eyes and believe... Believe that magic is real and dreams can come true. Almost everyone has heard the same ol' story when it comes to people who don't believe in Santa Clause. "My parents told me he wasn't real!" Do you know why your parents tell you he isn't real? Because they don't believe. They had an experience in their life that stopped them from believing. And because of their disbelief they feel their children shouldn't believe in something that THEY don't think is real. But think about it... what proof do they have that he's not real? And then there's the wonderful "I found presents that were from him!" story. More than likely you never believed in him to begin with. As far as I know, a lot of people find BIG gifts that were from him. Like a bike. Well, I have no explaination for that, but I'll tell you the same thing my mom always told me... "How can you expect an old man to carry around something so big?" Magical or not. Tell me, have you ever heard someone say they believe in Santa Clause and they backed it up with a story on why they believe? I sure know I haven't. Because a lot of people don't get to experience something extrodinary or magical! Though, I'm one of the people who has experienced something... quite strange. And those experiences keep reminding me to believe. Every Christmas... And I mean EVERY Christmas the gifts we recieve from Santa were all piled up in a red, velvet bag. Like the bag from the movie "The Santa Clause". It's quite easy for you to believe that my parents or my grandparents just bring it out from where ever they were hiding it... But this is my house. And it's quite hard to hide a bag filled with gifts. Basement? Nope. I go down there all the time. No room for such a thing. Attic? Nope. The entry way to the attic is in my bedroom. Parents room? Nope. I go in there all the time. If they hid it in there, someone would be sure to see it. A car? Nope. Go in the cars all the time. Even the trunks. Grandparents? Nope. They live far from here. To bring it, it'd need to be in the back of the truck. And we go in there when they arrive to get presents out. So, where else left is there to hide something so large where it wouldn't be seen? One Christmas when I was young... I receieved something in my stocking. It was a ring. Real diamonds and all. A girl at the age of 9-11 would never receive something like that! But not only that... I had this weird urge to look under the thing the ring was in. (Y'know, those little pillows keeping it steady.) And underneath it was a small piece of wrapping paper. Boy was I glad I looked under there! I opened it up and it read in sloppy handwriting "Because you believe in me." I was shocked, to say the least. But I was happy... very happy. That my belief even though I was getting older kept going strong... and someone noticed. The thing that I found strange more than anything... Was one day in a Salon. My mother, brother, and I were going to get our hair cut. It was the Holidays, we had to look nice! Towards the back I noticed a very familiar man... White hair, white beard, and fat! He looked a lot like Santa Clause. And so the man wouldn't hear me incase he would take it offensively, I whispered that to my mom. She just smiled and agreed. We did our best not to stare as we and himself were getting our hair cut. Before the man left... He walked up to us, smiling. And handed my brother and I something. A Virginia state quarter! My brother and I were shocked because the reason we were in the Salon was because we were about to go to Virginia to visit family. You can say all of that is just a coincidence... Especially the last one. But think about it! A man who looks like Santa Clause somehow KNEW we were going to Virginia even when we never said anything? Even after you read my story... You don't have to believe. But I hope that at least some of you... can believe in a little magic." By: ALA
