Hoax/Virus warning - Read, and do us ALL some good.
Alright... it is completely and utterly astounding at the amount of people who fall for bullshit scams like this. C'mon people, this is 2007 for crying out loud! Enough people on teh intarweb should know the goddamned basics of computers to know that this kind of shit is FAKE!
I know what you're saying, you're saying "But, but, how do you know this is fake, huh?? If it's on teh websight then it must be true!"
And yes. I misspelled "websight" on purpose.
I did a simple google search for "Ashley Marc James virus" (you DO know what google is, right? It's this big brain that knows shit that you don't know?) and this is what I found.

There's also a
forum post on Snopes about it coming from myspace.
Now, let me say this:
THERE IS NO PHYSICAL POSSIBLE MAGICAL WAY TO GET A VIRUS AND FRY YOUR HARD DRIVE JUST BY ADDING SOMEONE ON AIM/ICQ/YAHOO/MSN OR MYSPACE OR FUBAR OR FRIENDSTER OR FACEBOOK OR ANYTHING!!!
Yes, that HAD to be in caps. In fact, let me go back and bold it. There, it's bolded.
So, c'mon people, THINK and shit! And what's worse is, by all you people blindly forwarding this shit on and on and on and on and on etc, you're costing the messengering companies, and the social network websites (such as our beloved Fubar) a SHIT-TON OF MONEY! You don't think that bandwidth grows on trees, do you?? Well, IT DOESN'T! The more bandwidth costs, the more sites have to have advertisements, or start charging, and the SLOWER THE GODDAMNED SITE RUNS!!
Think about those next time you go to blindly forward a scare-tactic hoax. Don't be afraid to google search it first (no, google searching for virus definitions will NOT infect your hard drive. for fuck's sake).
Here's the offending post below. And to those who reposted the hoax bulletin, well, take none of this offensively, just be smarter next time. Use that brain for an extra two minutes. Your next blurry mirror picture can wait. Trust me.

Tell everyone on your list because if somebody on your list adds them you will get it too. It is a hard drive killer and a very horrible virus. Please pass this on to everyone on your list. We need to find out who is using this account. Right click on the group name of your friends' list and click: Send Message to all. This is affecting to the best of my knowledge Yahoo, Skype and MSN. This is not a fake!
