An aquaintance of mine says the show is about how "Fucking awesome" Death(Gothenburg..?)Metal is, and that the jokes are all in fun, and only there because..well, it's Adult Swim. I have been getting a completely different point of view from the show. Small is obviously pointing out all that is wrong and needs to be fixed in Metal: It's being over-marketed and many of the fans are becoming brainless followers(The Arctic Circle?! come ON, re-res). Dude. Im KNOW Im right. It's so obvious, it's not like Small is being all complex with it. My friend is actually a perfect example of the mimetic fans Small slams in almost every episode. Lame.
