What are you waiting for?

A few legit sites.

In my last post I talked about fake profiles and a lot of sites not being legit. I did find a few sites that are legit or seem legit. One that I know is legit is, PlentyofFish.com. I met someone that had a profile on that site and was friends with her for several month before we parted ways. One of her friends, that I met, also had a profile on that site. I also saw that the mother of my nephew had a profile on that site. Plentyoffish.com has a sister site for people who want to commit to long term relationships, Evow.com. Both sites are free. There is an option to buy a membership, but all that does is makes your profile show up first in searches and a few other abilities on the site that is possible to live without. Oh, an last time I checked it was a lot more reasonably priced compared to other sites $15 a month oppossed to $30 a month.

I also found that the mother of my nephew has a profile on another free site, OKCupid.com. That site seems pretty legit. Kinda seems like any dating site that allows free communication has a tendancy to not have a whole lot of fake crap.

If anyone reading this is interested in trying dating sites, another couple of free ones are datehookup.com and Saucydates.com. On Saucydates.com if a profile is reported as being fake and the admin agrees, the profile is deleted and that IP address is permenently banned from the site. That IP address is also shared with other dating sites to let them know that that person had created a fake profile.

Fake profiles

On dating sites there is a common belief that if the girl is really hot and acting really into you, it is really a 40 year old, overweight man. Well in some ways this is probably true on some of the sites. Also you could be looking at a profile run by a computer or someone paid to attract people into buying a membership because there are women showing interest in you.

I have looked into several dating sites and very few of the adult 'dating' sites are legit. First they advertise completely free membership and don't tell you that the free membership basicly lets you set up a profile and does nothing esle. If you just keep a free membership you usually can't respond to any of the messages that you recieve. Now on most of these sites, I ended up getting flooded by messages from very attractive women. On the two sites I tried out memberships on, the messages from those women stopped as soon as I upgraded. So I have decided that there are two types of fake profiles, people paid to lure people in, and cyber bots(for the same purpose.) There are a few sites that had a common occurance of this, but changed the rules of the free membership to being able to respond to messages but otherwise not able to send them. Yeah, I ended up with no messages at all.
