THE BREATH OF YOUR CHILDREN
Oh Father of Creation, our table abounds with your gifts, we should be rejoicing, but sadly, this cannot be.
For who among us can rejoice when there is a thief in our midst, a thief who steals your most precious gift, the breath of your children.
Our hearts are heavy with despair, for each day the thief exists, more precious lives are lost, this suffering must come to an end.
We pray for the laughter of a smiling child, we pray for the sounds of children singing, and we pray for the chance to end the suffering, and we pray for the chance to never again, hear a dying child ask the questions, "Why me?"
Father you alone can grant the gift of life, we ask you to bless our efforts to end this despair, and to bless us in the service, we ask in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
