The illusions that cover our lies,
Generally have some truth to them.
We try so hard to keep our secrets
Locked away from the world.
Though in the end, what good
Has it wrought? The truth is always
Going to be within us…
Reminding us of past sins.
Sins we can no longer rectify.
Our "friends" leave us to be crucified
By those who are hurting most.
Then what have we left but
Our tears and our guilt?
Guilt that on it's own will multiply
And exemplify our bad choices.
And then we are left with nothing.
Absolutely nothing but our tears.
Tears that fall more heavily
More steadily over coming years.
