What are you waiting for?

This is the second most embarrassing thing to happen to the Dallas Cowboys. The first and forever to be the worst embarrassment was the way Jones treated Tom Landry. He fired Tom Landry with a simple phone call. No press conference no recognition of being the only coach of the Dallas Cowboys since they came into the league in 1960 much less having the 3rd most wins in the NFL. Jones is a man with no respect for this game or this team. It is not about giving the fans a winning team it’s about selling tickets. Since he bought the team in 1989 they are 109 wins to 133 loses a far cry from Landry’s 270 wins and 178 loses. Now he is embarrassing the team again with bringing Terrell Owens here knowing all of the problems he has had with his past teams. When a team cuts a player before the season is even over not asking anything for them or even trying to trade them you have to know that player is major trouble. Some how Jones didn’t understand that concept but how could he, after all he is not a coach he just thinks he is. He wasn’t thinking about anything other than money. Now instead of making he is about to lose and lose big. As Owens continues to have his public meltdown Parcells will play him less and less. So far he has had one decent at best game. For the season he has 17 catches for 232 yards and only 1 touchdown. These numbers are so bad he does not even show up in the top 30 in the NFL in receptions or receiving yards. Just a side note here Terry Glenn is 27th with 20 catches for 290 yards and 3 touchdowns. I know you think well that’s not a big difference in numbers. As Paul Harvey would say “and now the rest of the story” Owens has had 40 pass attempts to Glenn’s 27 and has 4 drop passes 2nd most in the NFL. Could that be right? Glenn has 20 catches out of 27 and the GREAT T.O. has 17 out of 40? Imagine if Jones had went out and picked up one of the decent free agents that were available and made Glenn the primary receiver. Parcells knows football and will play the players and call the plays that will give his team the best chance to win. When he calls on Glenn more look for T.O. to get louder with more outburst and then Jones will once again overstep his boundaries and try to influence the coach’s decisions. That’s when you can count on Parcells walking away from this team as well he should. This is not some fresh out of college coach. This is Bill Parcells who has already proven himself as one of the greats and destined to be in the Hall of Fame. He came to Dallas because he loves the game and wants a shot at winning one more ring but if you think for a second that he will take any crap off of a snot nosed team owner you are mistaken. Personally I would love nothing more than to see Parcells at a press conference take off his whistle and put it around Jones’s neck then pop that ball cap on his head and tell him there ya go big guy the teams is all yours. That would just be poetic justice for an ass that has destroyed the image of Americas Team. . To all of the die hard Cowboy homers that want to bring up the ‘90’s and the Super Bowl wins you won’t get an argument from me if you give credit where credit is due. Jones had no clue how to draft a player. It was Jimmy Johnson that hand picked those players that would become the last dynasty of the NFL. Ok second to last depending on your point of view with the Patriots. Point being it was Johnson and not Jones behind the success of the Cowboys in the 90’s. When Jones started forcing his opinion and ideas on Johnson the honeymoon was over and Johnson left the team. Mind you here is a coach that left a team just weeks after winning the Super Bowl. How bad does an organization have to be to run off a coach that just won them the championship? It’s time to face the reality. This team will never yes I said never ever be a championship caliber team as long as Jones has anything to do with this team in any way. Don’t get to excited at the fact that Jones is 64 his son Stephan is already well embedded in the team and I am sure will just continue the gross mismanagement of what once was a great team. The day Tom Landry was no longer a Cowboy was the day I no longer called myself a Cowboy fan.
