I own a house in North Dakota. I moved to NY last April. Turned off my water and of course am producing no garbage at the ND house. The town is charging me full rates for water and garbage removal every month. They have never done this in their history, only so far with ME and there is nothing written legally about this. They have put a lien on my property because I refuse to pay for services I am not receiving. Can you imagine the legal precedent for this ? Electric companies could charge you for electricity you DON'T use. Grocery stores could charge you for NOT shopping with them. LOL
Do you think being charged for services you don't use is wrong ? |
