Yet I am nothing more than a workhorse to them- worth only the profits I stuff their eager little paws with. All praise and fine when I'm on my A-game- racking up the perps- but let me falter, let them hire one merc that can keep up with me and I'm back to being the company freak. Back to being "Little Miss Condescending"- good enough to hand the tough jobs no one will touch, but not good enough to give the time of day to.
Now they go to telling me I can't take this job? That the bounty is is impossible to collect- that I will never catch up to him?
Tell ya one thing: I never say never. And when someone tells ME "never?"
