WINNIPEG -- Another day, another doctors bill for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Colin Kaepernick Elite Jersey . Nathan Riva looks like the latest casualty at running back. The 22-year-old native of LaSalle, Ont., hobbled off the field with help early in Tuesdays practice. Coach Paul LaPolice says he pulled a hamstring and theyre waiting for word on how long he might be out. Canadian fullback Jordan Matechuk also hurt his hand during practice and that needs to be checked out as well. LaPolice had to grimace at the CFL teams lousy luck. "We may have lost two Canadian backs today, two trainers and an equipment guy," he said ruefully. He explained that two members of their support staff were off sick and another lost an argument with a piece of equipment in the weight room. Riva was behind starting tailback Chad Simpson on the depth chart and even Simpson isnt 100 per cent and doesnt practice fully with the team. Second-year Canadian running back Carl Volny was practising Tuesday and is a possibility but his status is still uncertain. He was sidelined midway through the 2011 season with a torn ACL and hasnt seen action since. Promising newcomer Anthony Woodson also might be out for the remainder with a shoulder injury he incurred at the start of the season. So that could mean Will Ford gets plucked from the practice roster as a designated import. "That (Riva) may be the third Canadian tailback injured so Ford may have to go," said LaPolice. The Bomber injury bug just keeps biting. Backup quarterback Alex Brink is starting for an injured Buck Pierce as the Bombers try for their second win of the season Friday against the Montreal Alouettes. Pierce has been on the field during practice this week to keep his throwing arm in shape but isnt expected back until sometime after the teams bye week, which follows Fridays game. Offensive lineman Andre Douglas showed up as a spectator Tuesday, as he waits for surgery to repair an injured ankle. "My ligament comes out of place," he said. "It flaps around and has to be reattached." Douglas was the teams outstanding rookie in 2010 and played all last season at left tackle. The plan was to have him and fellow line veteran Glenn January play bookends at left and right tackle as the team tries to develop some young Canadian draft picks for the line. "This is all just one big ball of bad luck," said a disappointed Douglas. "For me its very frustrating. I worked very hard in the off season and came in the best shape Ive ever been in." It also has been a problem for the Bombers. The line had trouble at the start of the season protecting their quarterback, although that seems to be improving with game experience. And it has meant big playing time for rookie Oklahoma State import Jordan Taormina. "(My) expectation was to get some playing time, I did not expect to start all these games that I did," he said after practice. "Im pretty much the only rookie that has got this much playing time." He says he has received advice on staying focused and keeping his eyes open so he can see the whole field. As for the Bombers focus this week, its on beating the Alouettes. A win would move the 1-4 Bombers into a tie with the 2-3 Alouettes in the CFLs East Division. Veteran linebacker Jonathan Hefney says the defence did a better job in last weeks 23-22 win over the Edmonton Eskimos but it must improve to beat the Alouettes. "We just played hard," he said of the first home game and first win of the season for the Bombers. "We ran to the ball hard. We did everything but we still made mistakes, which showed with them scoring points. "Were just going to try to eliminate all the mistakes and everything will fall into place." A.J. Jenkins Jersey . Shipley tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee on Sept. 18. He was limited during drills in the off-season and wasnt allowed to practice when training camp opened on Friday. Joe Montana Jersey . The results have been smashing. Gonzalez extended a power surge by hitting three home runs in his last three at-bats, Michael Cuddyer belted a grand slam and Dexter Fowler also homered, leading the Colorado Rockies past the Houston Astros 13-5 on Wednesday night for their third win in a row. http://www.shop49ersfans.com/patrick-willis-jersey . Van Leur, 24, went 3-1 with a 3.78 ERA in 39 appearances out of the bullpen for the Pheasants this season and held opposing left-handed hitters to a .154 batting average. The second-year rookie played in 18 games with the Brockton Sox of the Can-Am League last season. Frank Gore Youth Jersey . City says on its website Friday that Maicon "will meet Blues manager (Roberto) Mancini and his new teammates when he returns from international duty next week. Colin Kaepernick Youth Jersey . Manager John Farrell said the addition of McCoy -- who can also play in the outfield if needed -- gives the Blue Jays some middle infield depth. Second baseman Kelly Johnson is nursing a tender hamstring and shortstop Yunel Escobar has had a tight left groin over the last few days. DENVER -- After throwing yet another touchdown on a play that worked exactly as it was drawn up, Peyton Manning ran to the end zone and head-butted the lucky receiver, running back Lance Ball. That was about as rough as things got for Manning on Sunday -- an afternoon he spent piling on in the second half instead of catching up. Off to a fast start for the first time as a Bronco, Manning led Denver to three third-quarter touchdowns in a 37-6 rout over the Oakland Raiders -- the first time Denver has beaten its AFC West rival at home since 2007. Denver (2-2) outscored the Raiders 27-0 in the second half. "Hes getting more comfortable," coach John Fox said. "Lets not forget he didnt play for over a year and this is a new team, new coaching staff, new city, new field, new everything for him. The type of guy he is, hes going to get better and better." Picking and poking with short crossing routes and screen passes against a depleted Oakland defence, Manning finished with 338 yards and three scores. For the second straight game, he didnt throw an interception. Last week, he set a career high with 26 incompletions. This week, he threw eight, with 30 completions. Willis McGahee finished with 112 yards rushing for the Broncos for his 32nd career 100-yard game, the most of any active player. Demaryius Thomas had 103 yards receiving. This marked the first time the Broncos have had a 300-yard passer and 100-yard rusher and receiver since opening day in 2007. The Broncos didnt punt -- only the fifth time thats happened in franchise history. "Nothing magic I could share with you," Manning said, when asked about Denvers quick start to the second half. The Broncos started the first half quickly, too. Manning led them to their first opening-quarter touchdown of the season -- an 11-play, 80-yard drive on the games first possession that included drive-sustaining completions on third-and-6 and fourth-and-1. He capped it with a 22-yard touchdown pass -- zipped high through triple coverage to Joel Dreessen, who snatched it on the dead run. Shortly after that, Manning answered a lot of questions about his arm strength, rolling to his right, stopping on a dime, leaving his feet and throwing across his body for a 23-yard completion to Thomas. That set up a field goal and a 10-3 lead. The Broncos gained 101 more yards than the Raiders (1-3) in the first half, but only led 10-6 going into the locker room, thanks in part to a Thomas fumble after a 40-yard reception and kicker Matt Praters misfire on a pass to left guard Zane Beadles on a fake field goal. "Maybe give Manning-Stokley a chance before Prater-Beadles," Manning joked. Easy to laugh about given how the second half went. Manning drove the Broncos 79 and 63 yards for third-quarter touchdowns, capping one drive with a short pass that Eric Decker took in for a 17-yard touchdown and the other with a similar 14-yard connection with Ball, which brought Manning into the end zone for the celebration. There was also an 18-yard drive thanks to David Brutons deflecction of Shane Lechlers punt. Randy Moss Womens Jersey. By the time the third quarter was over, the Broncos led 31-6. Their 21 points were 14 more than theyd scored in the third quarters of their first three games combined. Yes, these Broncos looked much different than the Broncos who fell behind by 20 the last two weeks to Atlanta and Houston, then rallied late, but came away with six-point losses. "Yeah, its clicking," McGahee said. "We lost to two great teams. It wasnt like it was an easy walk we were supposed to breeze through." The Raiders have now been outscored 55-7 in the third quarter this season. Under new coach Dennis Allen -- Denvers defensive co-ordinator last year -- they have allowed more points over the first four games (125) than in any year except 1961 and 1962, before the late Al Davis took over. This was their most lopsided loss in the series since a 44-7 defeat in 1962. "It was nothing more than a good, old-fashioned butt-whupping," said quarterback Carson Palmer, who finished with 202 yards passing. The Broncos, who had allowed Darren McFadden 508 yards and three touchdowns over the last four meetings, held him to 34 yards on 13 carries. "He has been outstanding on this field and we knew going in that we had to contain him," Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey said. Oakland came in without injured starting cornerbacks Ron Bartell and Shawntae Spencer, which has forced a number of changes -- none of them for the better. "Its hard to play against Peyton Manning no matter what," Allen said. "Hes a Hall of Fame quarterback and theres a reason hes a Hall of Fame quarterback. But weve got the guys that we have, and thats who weve got to go out and play with and weve got to play at an NFL level." Manning, who padded his record total of 300-yard passing games to 65, looked like the Manning of old -- standing at the line, diagnosing a defence, then choosing, in most cases, to throw quick screens or crossing routes. Decker had seven catches for 79; Manning spread his 30 completions to eight receivers. The referees were no factor. They called nine penalties, five for 41 yards against the newly disciplined Raiders, who came into the game near the bottom of the league in that category and will stay there. The Broncos, meanwhile, had amassed around $150,000 in fines over the first three weeks and, though there werent any obviously finable infractions in this one, they played like bullies, outgaining the Raiders 503-237. Oakland didnt get its first first down of the second half until the 12:45 mark of the fourth quarter. NOTES: The Broncos lost C J.D. Walton to a left ankle injury in the second quarter. Before the injury, he had missed only one offensive snap in his career, out of 2,269 possible plays. ... Even with a 2-yard punt, Raiders P Shane Lechler averaged 49.4 yards on seven kicks. ... The last Broncos trio to have a 300-100-100 game was Jay Cutler (304), Travis Henry (139) and Javon Walker (119) in a 15-14 win over Buffalo on opening day 2007. ' ' '
