A Forested Place
by LateNiteFantasy©
In a secluded forested place, I sat on a flat, chilly stone and listened. I could hear the gentle drip of dew falling from high, high trees onto rocks below and into brooks that ran alongside. There was a gentle hush there, a wordless call that seemed to say "embrace me".
The wind, growing more heated, and more fragrant with every passing moment, encircled me, wrapped itself around me and with a soft urging, lifted me from my rock to follow it along a narrow path.
And there, to you.
A softer, sweeter scent than ever the wind carried captivated me, and you, a being more lovely than any of nights dreams completely drew me. You were attired in gossamer, hair flowered, emerald eyes and honey smiles and I knew in that moment I would love no other.
A drop of dew from high, it struck me, there on the top of my head, and you smiled, and you laughed and I found myself lost in a giggle I could not control. I looked away from you for the merest moment, to gesture towards the heavens, to smile and say, "that was unfair", and when I looked again, you were gone.
I feel no more of my life will be lived, it has been years since that fateful day, and each day I have returned to this place, to see you, my goddess, to have you smile at me again, to let me love you again, and I feel, I have no more life left, and sad.
A large tree will offer me respite from the day, and offer me a place to lay my head against as this life spills from me, leaving me one with this place forever.
No sadness, for having seen you, I know now, there can be no sadness, for I have loved you everyday of my life, and in that, my life was full.
