Edit on 2009-05-01: In addition to the MySpace and LiveJournal I mention here, I have a Facebook (ask) and a twitter (at eschiss1).

Public service announcement: for information on NSFW, Salutes, and other support-related info, you may want to read this collection of blogs reposting (mainly at least I think!) admin/bouncer-posted blogs and bulletins, by Sabrina K- which I have been given permission to link to, and which I recommend reading - they're updated occasionally.
CherryTap Support

Please read some of the following (and some blogs, especially the blog entitled CT Policy - there's a list of blogs on the left when you click on a public blog post on the left side of the journal; or message me for a link :) ) --if you are thinking of sending me a friends request, ok? Please do not send me an empty request if we've spoken not at all or very little, if our only interaction has at most been a bit of rating or mutual rating of photos, Cherry-stashes, or similar stuff.

Anyways. OK. Two things if you are here for the first time:

No HTML Comments or whatever it says, I'll fill in the wording soon- that just means, no HTML in your comment. It does not mean, you cannot leave a comment. (Unless I have blocked you, or something. Very few people fall in that category.)

Apr. 12 2007 . Some of this removed and moved elsewhere for reworking refitting yes yes. I'm verbose anyways but...

I have Asperger Syndrome - a mild case, but it's worth looking into. It's not the be-all end-all of "who I am" but it's part of me, I was born with it, there is no cure though one learns ways to cope with the negative and make use of the positive. (And if you are a parent of someone with AS - yes, there certainly can be "positive" much of the time)

If you are on my list of CT friends you may wish to read this autobiographical blog (copied over from LJ and the first instalment only so far, but more to follow).

I like to read writing I can understand- this is not as important to me when I'm chatting with someone in the shoutbox here and can just ask what something means. A writer who wants to be understood - yes of course this applies to me too in spades - needs to put effort in, though.

I have got to remove a lot of the rest of this.
About me:

if it bothers you too much that I'm anti-war (I'm not anti-soldier, though I'm definitely anti-this-administration and didn't think that much of Kerry, Bush's rival in the USA, either) - then pass on by. If it bothers you too much that I'm an atheist - pass on by. If it bothers you that I'm a socialist, that I think holdings should eventually be in the hands of the people doing the labor among other things- pass on by. If it bothers you that I'm pro-choice- pass on by. I'm not too often vocal about these things, and it may do to ask exactly what I mean, too...- but I haven't been known to shut up in "real life" and if the purpose of sites like this is to make eventual friends, there's no purpose served in hiding a person, except in the short term of course! (Added 9-1-06 after some thought and grumbling and may be inadvisable, but... one jumps sometimes.)

I have a contrarian streak that you may want to be warned about, though some may have guessed.

My "crush" here on CT is on someone I've met in person. (I certainly had the crush the day I met her, though it was some while back, and I think I still do.)

So. Those are some things that I am not, mostly...

I am:

A part-time employee with several jobs only mostly off computer, musiclover (used to play viola, I still listen and write). Should write more in this, though it'll probably elaborate on "if you thought I was going to be normal, you weren't paying attention."

Oh, if the profile doesn't already say (and assuming you're one of those diligent people who reads this shtuff in the first place, right, yes??) I'm 36 as I write this (37 as I go over it). That's years. Still interested enough in talking with people who don't run away at the sign of that, I'm a curious person in more ways than one (which is not the same as "dangerous weirdo", just eccentric.)

I'm single and looking for conversation with interesting people, looking to learn. Acquaintance and the grounds for friendship which takes awhile. __N__ot looking for something else.

"I'm not good at describing myself" is easily enough answered too - practice, then. And this site having pulled me back in the last four months, I hope I've written a description

at least as interesting as that of the next person. Till then, if I'm here, I may be tossing these sections about here there this then up down salad pie (can't stand salad, but it fit), but foreach (question) {ask;}

I am on MySpace here if you want to send an add request, though again, please read the profile first (common sense, I know.) I also have a LiveJournal (at malver).

My current temporary-part-time work is mostly three-fold -- I work around ten hours a week doing data entry in a department of Cornell University; I work (about four hours a week...) as support to other staff at a peer-run drop-in and empowerment center for people who've used mental health services; and I help maintain a website for another support group, some of whose events I attend once every few months. The not-so-very-rara avis Eric can sometimes be sighted visiting his parents at their home, somewhat more often, in fact, than that!

There, that wasn't so hard -- you can take a breath now, the profile's over... yes, drinking water is good after an endurance race...
