Kaleb is still doing better. He had an audiology appointment yesterday and that didn't go so well... During the whole test the lady kept sighing and saying "oh, this doesn't look good..." so I was getting a little frustrated. Then she told us that his hearing is now "Grossly Abnormal". She tried a bunch of different tests and still thinks that he cannot hear. I don't believe her though because I KNOW HE CAN. I will call his name and he will turn his head. The audiologist said that the damage to the hearing is in the brain, not in the ears. I will not accept this because she is not there when I walk into his bedroom and he hears me and turns towards me. Even his Home health nurse says she thinks he can hear. So yesterday wasn't the greatest day... But I am not going to let this get to me. One good thing is that today when I was taking a picture of Kaleb his eyes were half open, and when the flash went off, he opened his eyes. I though it might be a coincidense so I did it again, and he did it again... I did this 6 times and each time he opened his eyes like he saw the flash!!!!! YAY!!! _PRAISE GOD! I know he can see! Things are progressing slowly but SURELY!
Kaleb is going to get the best chance he can to live a perfect life! I will do anything I have to and go to the ends of the earth to give him that chance. I love him so much and when I look at him I see strength! I never thought that our lives would be dramatically changed... But all we can do is embrace what we have been given and do the best we can with it. I know that my son may not be normal ever again, but he will be loved, cherished and given EVERY oppurtunity out there!
Thank you for all of your prayers, thoughts and gifts that you have given my son. Please continue to pray for my son and my family. God is WONDERFUL!
