April Poem-A-Day challenge
Today's prompt:
"Describe something--only one thing--that is either very interesting to you or something you think is often overlooked and taken for granted"
I went with the overlooked option and for some reason wrote ...
Meditation on a Doorknob
So simple in design,
pure function over form.
No question what you do or how you're used.
Allowing us to pass
from one place to the next
and yet still causing some to be refused.
Grabbed and twisted constantly
with never a complaint.
No aspirations to be something more.
You simply do your job,
content with what you are.
Existing just to open up the door.
