Our Puppy Promises pups need some help getting out of Georgia, and to their rescues in the Northeast....

We have 16 pups ready to go, so they need a total of $400 ($25 each for transport costs)

What is Puppy Promises?

Puppy Promises^SM is an intervention program created to save puppies before they ever enter the shelter environment (where they will be exposed to disease). Since foster homes are difficult to find, this program contracts with the owner to quarantine the pups at their home for 14 more days. At the end of this quarantine, the pups are turned over to Saving Shelter Pets to be transported to no-kill sanctuaries. Once the owner signs a contract, the pups are given vaccinations and de-wormed at no charge to the owner.

The Puppy Promises^SM contract also stipulates that the mother of these puppies must be spayed at the expense of Saving Shelter Pets. Therefore, Puppy Promises^SM not only saves puppies from the high threat of parvo in shelters; it eliminates future litters from the mother as well.

Puppy Promises^SM focuses on pet over population one litter at a time.

Notes: Penny came to us as a stray on 7/2/07 and is in very bad shape!! She was attacked by something (maybe another dog) and has 2 puncture holes in her bottom jaw and her check bone. She is very swollen and has a very rotten odor to her. When we opened her mouth we found her tongue to be totally detached from her mouth and very infected. She is limping on her hind leg and her front leg is also swollen. We have since put her on a strong antibiotic and are draining the puss from her wounds a couple times a day. She is finally able to eat because her swelling has went down and she is beginning to feel more like a pup! However she is still very uncomfortable and needs to be taken to a vet, Donations would be greatly appreciated so we do not have to euthanize because of a high estimate from a vet!!!!!!!!!!! She is scheduled for euthanasia at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11th .

Please call if you are interested in giving her a second chance in your home. Our adoption fee is $60 CASH which includes her spay, rabies vaccine, duramune vaccine, and her Ohio dog license, which will be honored anywhere in the state of Ohio through the end of 2007.
