Well the ASU event with Jim Karol "The Psychic Mad Man" http://cherrytap.com/jimkarol was simply phenomenal!
You have to see Jim in action to really appreciate this man's phenomenal gifts. The weather was great, the atmosphere vibrant and all the campus kids had a blast.
My good friend and famous actor Gary Busey was also there and just before the show he jumped on stage and screamed " COME ON here and enjoy Jim Karol's incredible magic show and if you don't you will not graduate or have your doggie shampooed tonight". That was enough to double the attendance in just a few minutes. Jim amazed everyone with his amazing gift and if he happens to be in your area, DON'T MISS HIS SHOW!
My other great friend and famous poet Bryant Mc Gill http://www.cherrytap.com/user/58 was there too with his brother William http://www.myspace.com/williammcgill
and we all had such a good time. Take the time to go to see all the pictures we took at ASU.
While two of the "Horsemen Of The Cosmos" Bryant and Jim left Phoenix, Gary and I decided to take a trip to "Lake Pleasant" and try my new powerboat.
The day was fantastic nice and warm and we arrived at the lake around Noon. My good friend Dave was also with us and as a reputed mechanic I wanted to make sure all was safe and sound with the boat. The moon was waning and as always during a "negative" moon anything can and will happen. But there are always lessons to learn as the will and emotions are tested to the limit.
For some unknown reason the rope came off the boat as it slide off from the trailer to the cool water of the lake. Dave decided to jump all dressed up in the water to redirect the boat to the dock before smashing into the sharp rocks. That was quite funny to watch but Dave is tough and was laughing all the way his forced swim. You may of course see all the picks at http://cherrytap.com/drturi under my photo.
After a while Gary jumped in the boat and we were ready to go. I turned the ignition on and cranked the engine. Finally as expected after 3 of 4 minutes the battery went dead. Gary was laughing his head off looking at me going berserk and screaming my head off. I finally realize that the boat was engaged and the water pump combined with the turning propeller killed the battery. I simply did not Dis-engage the unit and over stressed the battery.
But I am lucky and another person brought me a new battery he has stored in his truck and some jump cables. Finally the motor started roaring and I let it run for a while to warm up.
I took the powerboat gently pass the harbor and crank its 250 horsepower to the maximum.
Gary was mesmerized looking straight ahead in the golden Arizona mountains gasping deep fresh breaths as the wind was flowing through his long blond hair. He was in paradise and happy to feel free away from everyone and the stress and torment of a famous life.
I knew he wanted to "feel" the boat and I gave him the control. "HO MY GOD", what have I done I thought for a minute, we are going to die right here in this lake.
He is fearless and never told me that he had lots of experience with powerboat and we literally flew above the water for a few minutes. He was pushing my boat to the extreme and I really thought he was going to capsize it turning it on a dime. He make a few eights circle telling me "Louis this is the endless sign of destiny". I thought yes this is it, it's the end of this boat and both of us, right here right now!
But Gary handled the machine very well and the boat performed exactly as the manufacturer promised and that is with "excitements and true power"! He finally throttled down and stopped the boat at a very beautiful rock formation (see pics). We spoke for a while, eat our sandwiches and enjoyed the calmness and natural beauty surrounding us. After a long conversation I started the boat again and took off gently. Gary was standing on the back of the boat posing for Dave who wanted to see the wave splashing behind him.
That was a REAL bad idea.as I turned to see the action my elbow hit the gas and the boat jumped straight up in the air. I saw Gary trying his best to keep his balance and most of all avoiding falling in the cold water of the lake. When I saw all this I made a bigger mistake and that was to power down immediately. This simply means that Gary flew inside of the boat at the speed of light. INDEED THE BEST STUNT I HAVE EVER SEEN FROM HIM. I am CRACKING up, writing this part as I recall this incredible moment in time!
Gary flew the entire length of the boat and landed on the floor. I was horrified to see him in so much pain. I was quite scared then but luckily for all of us he was fine and only his ego was hurt. He took him a while to get back normal but after a few screams and swears he came down and could laugh at himself.
Gary said to me that he thought that he could be late for his plane and hoping that he would be on time at the airport. I promised him it would be all OK.
Gary can be such a deep man; he is so spiritual but born in June his double personality is quite obvious. He can be the biggest asshole you cold ever come across and the most gentle, caring soul you could ever dream off.
The night before I took Gary, Jim, Bryant and William to my local bar and I specifically asked the bouncers to stay close to our table and to make sure NO ONE would come and harass us. I knew Gary was very tired (I also picked him up at the airport around 8.am) and it was also a very long day spent at ASU and as he told me many times, "Louis when I am in public I am ON DUTY, its part of the job". When Gary is ready for you, be sure that you (and the entire bar) regardless where he is at, will know. He has his own way of saying OK I am ready for you now.
Its like a scream or a signal saying come and harass me NOW and take as many pictures as you want. His "famous celebrity" kicks in and with it his second very nice Gemini side personality. Sad enough a few people that night in the bar, got to hear feel and see the worse side of a very tired Gary Busey trying hard to protect himself from the public. I knew he had enough after one hour or so and said, "Let's go Gary" and we went home. I know him so well and Gary will never be less than a foot from me. Even when asked where to go or what he wants to do by anyone he always says, "I am with Dr. Turi".
I had in mind to take Gary to the lake and have fun and I also know how powerful the thought really is and we discussed the waning moon power and all the words that were silently said before the trip. Anyone will always have personal thoughts; some are about fears some about hope etc.
Then Dave told me he had a fear that the boat would not start and this was now a part of the past but his thoughts did the damage. Just before driving to the lake I also told Dave that what ever we will do on the lake with such a powerful boat I would have to be careful NOT to injure Gary. Well that is also in the past and came to pass. I was laughing and hoping that the waning moon and mercury (communication/transportation) in retrograde (troubles) I would escape any serious problem with the boat.
Sure.Well on the way back I cranked full power and suddenly the boat did not respond to the powerful roaring engine. Damn I thought why do I go to the lake after the full moon and during a "supernova window". Well sometimes there is no much one can do, as Jim Karol event brought all of us to Phoenix and I cautioned everyone to be very careful and to expect" troubles" and trouble is was.
What happened is that between Gary and I crazy driving treatment a rubber in the propeller gave up and burned off immobilizing the boat right in the middle of the lake. Gary was laughing and said no worries my angels are watching us. I though my God Gary your fears of missing your plane just came true buddy!
I waited for a while trying to find a way to get out of this mess and gently pushed the gear. I knew that once cold the rubber would (under 9 miles per hour) stick and we may be able to make it on our own, and we did. It's a big difference between 60 miles to 9 miles per hours but it allowed us to enjoy the speedboat on a different level I guess. We engaged in some very philosophical conversation and the boat slowly but surely sailed to the harbor.
Then a miracle happened, on Friday afternoon there were only two boats on the lake and two air force servicemen off duty joined us. They watched us from distance and knew that we were in trouble and decided to check us up. They immediately recognize Gary and we all engaged in conversations and funny jokes. This is really amazing I thought, there are only two people on this lake and they both knew about Gary. They accompanied us all the way to the dock and helped us ashore. They politely asked Gary for some pictures and he was more than willing to provide them with their wish.
We were on time and in my house in less than one hour later. Gary took a shower, gathered his belonging and I drove him to the airport. His special celebrity service was ready for him we hugged and he left for Los Angeles. Two hours later he called me back to thank me for the incredible time he had and he jokingly said he was mad because his best stunt ever was not filmed.
Our relationship have had some serious ups and down but for some reasons always survived serious upheavals and always turned into a much deeper understanding of each others where only a deep mutual respect and true friendship can endure.
Lots of very personal and deep matters also took place in Phoenix this last few days with Gary and I and with Jim and Bryant too where many of us learned some valuable lessons. But ultimately, regardless of the waning moon and the difficult celestial order our will is always stronger and we all survived the experienced and this means more power to us.
ASU kids were just phenomenal and were delighted with all of that and us what's really count in my book. I hope, as Phoenix is my hometown to go back there and like my good friend Jim Karol, teach them some tricks of my own. I will only make sure to schedule it all in better celestial auspices as to avoid unnecessary (but often needed) stress.
