Sharkfin's blog: "Chaos"

created on 10/03/2006  |  http://fubar.com/chaos/b9661
Good Morning this the first full week of November 2007. I find myself torn between two somewhat goofy stories this morning. One is about King Tut’s (Tutankhamen the boy king) face that is for the first time since discovered to be revealed. I am sorry, this story has way too much hype for it’s good. NBC and other entities would like to further build the hype by bringing up the curse of King Tut and who and how they died. I so could end this with a rolled eye look and a hand gesture but I will refrain from doing so but, will give a slight comment on this whole deal. First off can’t we respect the dead? Why the fascination about a 19 year old Egyptian King that will not better our lives with his death? We can learn nothing remotely pertinent to our culture through his culture and use it to better anything. Don’t get me wrong. It’s nice to know about world events and how various cultures lived. Those things were basically taught to each one of us in grade school correct? Put him back in his stone sarcophagus and allow him the peace he deservedly is owed. Wow while I drove into work this am I had a different view of what to write about and it had nothing to do with boy kings and blacken mummy’s or anything of that nature. I am sure most who are adventurous and curious enough to dig more into the king tut unmasking if you will are just doing so to see if they have actual footage of his younger life… brace yourself…their were no cameras back then…oh and by the way the resins used to….., I pause because we are so curious a people that we can not and will not allow the past of which has no barring on our future to blatantly rule our lives. So back to those hoping to see what he looks like thinking that the resins used to preserve him will give us a 3000 year old hunk of burning love. Time heals but does not reinvent the fountain of youth. If you viewed the body of one mummy you have viewed the body of them all. You want more on this story go and give your money to the Museum of natural History located in just about any major city around the globe. Enough Tut for one day… yuck! Makes me just want to have breakfast now with a scorched piece of shriveled up sausage. Kinda making me want to lock up the store and run over to IHOP for Pancakes with syrup. HEY!!!! What is IHOP’S deal with all the varieties of syrups? How about just one! Maple can anyone explain to me why there are Blueberry, Raspberry, Vanilla and Low Cal something? Oh here is a clue too, if you are eating Pancakes….Low Cal anything is like having your Wheaties with Beer instead of Milk… ick! Now lord knows I like beer, but lets hold the wheaties for the milk bath. Wow I went from old shriveled up mummy to low cal syrup I need help…. I will close on that note and wish you a less then shriveled up day…May your day be low cal free and mummy free too, unless you are watching a scary flick about mummies… leave the low cal syrup alone… A huge hug and assorted pats. Mart
