A boy and his wolf jump through a portal to recover something lost there last time. they know that they will forget language once through the portal so the took with them reminders of what language is. They travel and meet people along the way who are fighting an evil that spreads across the universe
His father and sister are looking for other things lost in other places but the sister joins up with the boy when she gets separated from the father.
They continue to move through time and space to find their father and they run into the great evil and his minions. The father was there fighting him off so the kids could escape, after the kids get away some of the minions follow through the portal where the people there have no knowledge of the evil nor of the portals..
