Good Morning….Just how many cats are enough? I mean not to make Cat stew or Chick- -can Cat-Cha-Tori…or even to climb to the top of Cat-Man-Do…But realistically how many cats are enough? Would you say 2 is enough? Some folks would say 1 is way too much…How about 86 oh yeah I did not stutter, if I did it would be 888888888888ttttttttttttttttttttttt666666666666666. Now that is one long stutter and way to many cats. However I just learned that 85 cats were ok, but when a Glenwood Springs Colorado woman received the 86th cat she needed help from a local animal shelter, in which the shelter was trying to find homes for 86 cats rescued from a two-bedroom condominium. The Colorado Animal Rescue Shelter received the cats on Wednesday. Since then, workers have been scrambling to accommodate the animals at area shelters and homes. How does one accommodate a cat? Give it fish? Cat Ca-nipplets? Throw thirteen balls of yarn around it? Now on 86 of them that is 1118 balls of yarn or enough yarn to make 186.3 sweaters unless you were making sweaters for a taco dog, (wiener schnitzel however…I think it is spelled Veiner Schnitzel) and I do think they are called Chihuahua’s nothing more then two beaded eyes a rat tail, pigmies ears a little arffer snout and not much hair…perhaps half a handful… But I digress… 86 cats…holey smokes that is the mother load!
Executive director Leslie Rockey said many appear to be healthy but in need of a bath. Ya think! I mean holey smokes if you started giving each cat a bath on Monday Morning it would be, well next week before you were through…and then you would need to start over again, let alone feeding them…and if one of them was Garfield like the dude would eat you out of house and home, in this case the two bedroom condo… Oh no, the Sheriff station is in Garfield county… it makes sense now…
Garfield County sheriff's spokeswoman Tanny McGinnis said the cats were strays taken in by a woman. The woman called for help, saying she couldn't take care of the cats while moving from her Battlement Mesa condo. Who on earth names their child Tanny? Ok…off the track again… 86 cats…You know I was trying to imagine ten cats in the same room at one time and then tried to do the weird mind game of imagining 8 to almost 9 times that amount and thought…holey crap! Think of all the kitty litter you would need? You would have to rent a small sand dune just so they could plant their kibble…
The saying cat got your tongue would come in handy here…The saying originated in the mid-nineteenth century and was used when addressing a child who refused to answer a parent's questions after some mischief. Often shortened to `cat got your tongue?'. Wow I am a wealth of info this morning…86 cats…. That is one heck of a mess… and I mean that literally.
So today, Tuesday may your day be brighter then that pore woman’s day is, and perhaps her day is just fine, she meant no harm, and perhaps had a heart of gold to take in that many strays, she could have called her place the Stray Cat Inn… Holey smokes that is a cool name for a Bed and Breakfast…perhaps in Key west, Florida….
I have said a days worth of holey smokes and 86 cats too many times… so have a fabulous day.
