Pardon me Ma'am, but it appears that you have been misinformed about a few things. Let me tell you a little bit about the South where I grew up. The term redneck came about from the farmers who worked all day, and were in the sun. Hence, a red neck. And hillbilly, well, those are the fine gentlemen that gave you coal. Now, where I come from the people still display the"Rebel" flag with pride, and no malicious feelings towards anyone. You cannot expect a family to not take pride in their ancestors, or their heritage. Do some people equate it with racism? Sure. And they would be wrong. As you can see, I am articulate and educated. And in receiving that education, I learned how much faith and pride the Confederacy took in making that flag, honoring the original states and their beliefs. And if you think that the states who fought for slavery were the ones to originate the idea of slavery, you need to take a refresher course in history. It would behoove you display just a bit more of that open-mindedness that you are preaching and realize that to most people, it is a way of showing pride in where they were born and raised.

and on an earlier remark you're right I've never visited the southern states(hopefully will change soon) but I have family that live there, friends that have moved over there, and met many people over the years from the southern states. and i have so far found you to be more arrogant and close minded, and disrespectful than any of them.
