Heroes Die Young
(The Battle for Vimye)
As the Commander barked his orders to his troops; he knew that the slaughter was unstoppable.
He knew that heroes die young.
As the Commander through wave after wave of his men into the enemy’s death grasp, he knew that many wouldn’t see the light of day.
He knew that heroes die young.
All of the Commanders’ men knew that this was the last try to gain a foot hold on the Ridge.
The men also knew that heroes die young.
After the smoke cleared and the last cry of death was heard, the Commander and his men mourned the deaths of their fallen comrades, and each man knew that their friends didn’t die for nothing.
They knew that in the years to come they will never forget the Heroes Who Died Young.
