For a few years now, I have been noticing a growing trend toward a particular mistake in grammar. It is driving me to distraction because this mistake seems to be catching on. Why don't I hear anyone blowing the whistle? Here is an example of the error: "Would you like to go to the store with Chris and I?" This grammatically is the same as "Would you like to go to the store with we?" It is also grammatically the same as "Would you like to go to the store with Chris and with I?" Lately, I've even been hearing this crap coming out of Hollywood! Pathetic! Many of these are people who would never allow anyone to catch them saying "Me and Chris are going to the store." which is grammatically the same as "Us are going to the store."!
I don't make fun of anyone.
Make up my mind. Should I consider making fun of anyone making that mistake? |
