Saturday 9/29 Movie

With nothing new worth seeing this weekend I took the chance to see a movie that came out a couple weeks ago: The Brave One. This was a very good film that looks into what someone would do when their lives are taken from their preseption of the world and can never look at it the same way agian. Jodie Foster plays a radio talk show host that looks for the the hidden bueaty of New York by walking around town and taping the sounds of the city. Her live is changed when she and her boyfriend are attacked by street thugs and she is almost beaten to death while her boyfriend died and the thugs took their dog. After a couple months of rehab she tries differnt way to put her life back together from going back to work buying a gun to feel safe to helping people she sees in trouble. What I really like is the film is unapologetic in its veiw and Foster's charater does back down. So may films would take this theme to the end and the main charaters will have a change of heart and the movie just fizzles out.

TV the rest of the week

Thur - Sun didn't watch much TV. Thur didn't have anything worth watching. Friday and Saturday I'm out with friends, but Las Vegas, Moonlight and Women's Mystery Club would be what I'm watching if I was a home. Sundays I usualy watch DVD and this sunday was The Critic.

Wensday Sept. 26 TV shows

My Wensday TV shows 7:00pm - Pushing Daisies 8:00pm - The Bionic Woman 9:00pm - Life Pushing Daisies -> this show doesn't start till next week so I'll talk about it after seeing it. The Bionic Woman -> I am a fan of the new Battlestar and when I found out that the same people were redoing Bionic Woman I was interested. this episode was ok it was a flashy show to try to get people's attention hopefully next week will be better when they start the real story. Life -> At first I was not going to watch this show but it did interest me a little and was looking for something to watch. As for first episodes this was better then Bionic Woman because it got into the main story right away and not just charater intros. Unlike Mon. and Tues. I'm not settled into the wensday shows I picked, maybe because they are all new but unlike the Networks I plan to give these show more then 1 or 2 viewing to give them a chance. (Fuck you Fox! Drive was a good show and needed more then 2 weeks!) Jason

Tues. Sept. 25 TV shows

My Tuesday Shows 7:00pm - NCIS 8:00pm - House 9:00pm - Boston Legal All of these are returning shows and I own all previous seasons on DVD. NCIS -> I like this show over the CSIs and L&Os because not only is it a good crime drama but it also take the time to have fun with the charater and the actors playing them. House -> House remains one of the coolest charater on TV. I will miss seeing the other actors that have left, especially Omar Epps, but for the next few weeks we can see House choose a new team. Boston Legal -> I miss half of last season because on one of the local channels they had Scrubs in syndication and I started watching it for the first time. I just got the DVD and will start watchin it this weekend. Still this episode was just as fun as a lot of the others. I like this show for the same reasons I liked Ally McBeal, strange charaters that pull out amazing victories in trial. All of these shows have been on for at least 3 years and I find they still hold up and not only am I going to watch them I will buy the DVDs. Jason

Monday Sep. 24 TV shows

These are my Monday shows: 7:00pm - Chuck 8:00pm - Heroes 9:00pm - Journeyman Chuck -> This show was ok and has potential. The actors did not seem set in their charaters and when the writers know how to write for them it will get better. Heroes -> I like shows with long story arcs and large casts and Heroes has both. I enjoyed the first season and this season's stories look good. Journeyman -> Now out of the shows I watched Monday night this was my favorite. Unlike Quantum Leap the time jumps are not linear and depends on what he has done on other leaps. So I'll keep my eye on Chuck, continue enjoying Heroes and look forward to see a lot more Journeyman. Jason

Fall TV

I have been watching some of the new shows and some of the return ones this fall and for the first week I'm going to say a short comment on the ones I watched. I do not own a VCR or DVR and for now I have no cable so this will be only network shows. As for future blog I'll only talk about the ones that make an impression. Jason
