Getting that color.

This blog is going to be controversal. This blog will anger those who feels it's ok to gate keep the top. I'm here to open the gates. It's not something you need permission or blessing to get or go for. If you want to be that color - you can.

Regaurdless of your tenure here on FUBAR, you've seen the brightly colored names that signify different top members from Most Active, MVP, Most Liked, Top Slots, etc so let's talk about that color. The color who gets the worst repuation because of the actions of a few.
The deeper red color signifies the top 10 guys and top 10 girls of the site for the previous week. Those leader boards can be seen here: Top Dudes & Top Chicks Leaderboard

There's also the slightly brighter shade of red that signifieds the top 10 most rated people on the site overall. That Leader Board is seen here on the left hand side: Lifetime Leaderboard 

Recently (during my 2.5 year hiatus) changes were made in the the way it's calculated. I think this is awesome as many give way more than they take on this website when it comes to running bling for themselves and for their family. Previously, the weekly top 10 on both sides was based on total rates received the previous week only and the rate counter on the profile used to NOT include the rates that you gained from famps/godmodes. A spreadsheet was used to track the days beginning totals and the days ending totals to see how many rates you received that day and where you would lie when it came to reset. 

 It's since updated and includes other stats such as tool tips, profile views, photo rates and overall interaction with others on the website in conjunction with accumulated rates. If you knotice those running blings to feature them more like big bangs, it's because they're attempting to get their profile views, tool tip views, and photo rates up to rank higher that day, thus placing them higher when it comes to weekly reset. 

HOW TO GET RATES: 

Swapping:

Trading a family spot for a family spot in another members family that also runs and plays the rank game is a common practice amongst those who play the ranking game. However if you're swapping with people on the same side as you - your rates are cancelling eachother out. You will not get ahead of them if every rate you get is also going to them every time you run a famiplifier. Be sure you're running boomerangs and big bangs JUST FOR YOU. Those rates are JUST FOR YOU. 

If you have friends on here that run bling don't don't play the "rank game" then you can absolutely swap with them. The biggest thing you can do to get ahead of rates is to buy in (by sending coins or a small bling etc) to EVERY famplifier/god mode you see running. Message those host happy hours and ask if they will be running blings for their family during their happy hour and if you may buyin.  It's not about how much bling YOU run, but how much of the running bling YOU are in. 

RUN FOR YOURSELF:

Run for yourself. Never be afraid to run a boomerang and a big bang for just YOU! Get those rates for YOU, get those profile views, tool tip views, photo rates etc for YOU. It may seem selfish, but it's necessary to get yourself rates when you have a family that has a lot of ranking members in it because with the famplifier bling if you get 1000 rates while running a famplifier - every member in your family ALSO gets those 1000 rates - and now you're still locked even with those who you're "competeing" with. SOME of those who consistently rank highly will tell you to run blings for your family more often than you should because they're benefitting from it. Some will tell you to have and not to have some in your family because of personal vedettas and rivaries they're projecting. You should be able to rank HIGH if you're running correctly even with other top ranking members in your family. If you're NOT - switch the way you're running (less for family, more for yourself), add more buyin's, or adjust your family structure. This is a game, and with games there's a compeition. Some do not always have the best of intentions and while they may not show them immediately - they will shine through with actions or words. 

BUYINS: 

Buyins to those running blings for rates (famplifiers & god modes) are a necessary part of the ranking game that many fail to mention. It truly is a group effort of being in everything you can be running to get one of those top 10 spots weekly. While other things do count, rates still play a large roll into that ranking calculation. buying into everything and anything you see running is what many do to get the rates especially on days when they're not running that day.

IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES:

Exposure through blasts, Happy Hours, Spotlight etc can all help you get more people to view your profile as well. Run a blast, comment on others. Love on and leave love on the Spotlight's profile. Love on and leave love on the Happy Hours profile. These things will get people to see your page and potentially come show love to your page.
