Two Wolves - A Cherokee Parable
An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life...
"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.
"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.
"One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt, and ego.
"The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.
"This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
"Which wolf will win?"
The old chief simply replied,
"The one you feed."

"FOOD FOR THOUGHT"
Do not dwell in the past,
do not dream of the future,
concentrate the mind on the present moment.
"LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT"
This life is what you make it. No matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends - they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they're your true best friends.
The Rose
Daniel Miller
And upon a day, while walking among the flowers of his teacher's garden, did the child speak unto the Mystic:
"Some men claim that this life
is the darkness of a curse,
and a punishment to be endured
for all our wicked ways.
Oh Mystic, what say you of life ?"
And the Mystic answered:
"I say that life is neither a curse nor a punishment,
But a rose filled with the beauty of desire.
The stem of the rose is your life upon this earth,
The thorns, painful lessons you bring unto
yourself, that you might learn.
The leaves are those joys that enter
your life with the tenderness of an unseen Love.
Curse not the sorrow of your thorns,
for the deeper they cut unto the heart of
your being, the greener the leaves of joy shall be.
The tiny bud is your soul, waiting to
bloom with the truth of God among its petals.
Slowly will your flower unfold,
that you might not become lost
within the fragrance of its secret.
And when the rose is at the height of its beauty,
Shall you not see the pureness of God
smiling from the very center of your Being ?"

The Phophet's Candle - Spiritual and Mystical Poetry
"You Inspire"
You lift me up when i am down, you make me smile when i seem to frown. You inspire me to look beyond things when it all just seems to be crumbling down all around.
You lift my spirits in ways i can't even begin to fathom, you amaze me like no other before you and for that i adore you more and more. You use your eloquence to always
try and raise my self esteem, with that kind of motivation i feel i can reach those boundless dreams. Your words are encouraging and dear to my heart, even when I don't
want to listen right from the very start. You are my strength in areas i feel weak and when all seems just a little bit bleak, My King my everything i adore you in so many ways
mainly in my darkest days. As your Queen i will do my best to uplift you Mind, Body and Spirit that not only will you feel it you can hear it in the words i speak and with all my
attention you seek. Through the storms we ride, we shall overcome the rolling tides, there will be no other before you nor during you and with that baby my love for you is very true.
Forever you will be My King and i will Forever be your Queen standing with you and not against you, when things seem a mess we together shall conquer anything we set out to do.
And come out Blessed That's what we do and that is what i see in you. You inspire me to be the best i can be. I will continue to love you endlessly.

The Invitation
By Oriah Mountain Dreamer
(A Native American Elder)
It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting in your heart's longing. It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain.I want to know if you can sit in pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it.I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own,if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tip of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, be realistic, or to remember the limitations of being human. It doesn't interest me if the story you're telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul.I want to know if you can be faithful and therefore be trustworthy.I want to know if you can see beauty even when it is not pretty every day, and if you can source your life from God's presence.I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, "Yes!"It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done for the children. It doesn't interest me who you are, how you came to be here.I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied.I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.I want to know if you can be alone with yourself, and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.
