My parents were married for over 62 years. I wrote this one when my Dad passed away last year only a year after he knew I was cancer free. I think he would approve.
"Two Angels"
I think I've found my purpose,
The reason God let me live,
The plan was a devine one,
As it allows us both to give.
He brought me home to you,
And it's here that I will reside.
Holding your hand in mine,
My heart always by your side.
He knew we were both alone,
And needed each other so.
He told me that I could choose,
That I did not have to go.
I think I've found the reason...
That he chose you for me,
As he saw two graceful angels,
With broken wings, down on their knees.
He straightened their golden halos,
And then gently repaired their graceful wings,
So they would have the strength together,
To soar through life and all that it may bring.
This major plan was well thought out,
For he would trust no other...
So that one day the young angel might be...
Half as angellic as her mother.
