when there is nothing that is asked from the world
but except for some breathing space
some quiet time to enjoy sunsets
or even the first fall of rain
why is there doubt cast over?
shattering the beautiful sunrise
and blanking the open sky
muting every honest sound
even thunder brings silence
yet you see the trailblaze of lightning
crack against the dark clouds
and you feel the torment of wind
its fury, hearing it in your mind
the sorrow of the scorned
still, it is silent
the silence, deafning and damning

so i take my place
under the chaos of the world
where darkness comes close to kiss the light
and the light pushes the darkness
with the hope that maybe
just maybe
another day that comes
its first light
will not bring sadness, no grief
no worry or even no pain
but only the joy of knowing
that your lonely heart still beats
it still feels even without sight
even without sound
it can erase every memory of hurt
especially the ones that
there were no words to say
