Okies... My son's dad wants to have our son from next weekend till after July 4th. I live in Virginia and he lives in FLorida. Yes I want my son to spend time with his dad, but I'm affraid of what is going to happen. My son hardly ever wants to talk to his dad on the phone. I have to take something away from him and tell him he won't get it back till after he talks to daddy. I know that's wrong, but he needs to talk to his dad. When I told him the other day that we were going to see daddy for the weekend he started crying and said he didn't want to and that he didn't want mommy to leave him there. I reassured him that I wouldn't leave him. After that he was ok with going to go see his daddy. I didn't know about the staying till July 4th till today. I'm scared that if I leave him he's not going to trust me anymore. He's only 3 years old. My mom and I talked about it. We agreed that I should allow him to decided if he wants to stay with his daddy after we get there and he's spent some time with him. Also that I tell his dad NO BRIBING him into staying with him. For him to make his own decision. He's a big momma's boy.
So here's the question...
Should I let my son make his own decision about staying with his daddy @ 3 years old?
I'm not asking for other's to make my decision. Just trying to get the opionions of others and what they think. Please do not be rude on this mumm. Thanks |
